Four students of Biomedical Master Program (PMIB) Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) are success in publishing their research results in international-rated journals. They are dr Rivo Yudinata Brian Nugraha SKed, dr Tita Luthfia Sari SKed, dr Azaria Amelia Adam SKed and dr Makhyan Jibril Al-Farabi SKed. For this achievement, those four students have been free from thesis final exam by Rectorate through International Scientific Publication Office (PPIKID) team.
Their results were presented in dissemination on Friday (16/1) at Graha Medika UB. The Chairman of PMIB, Prof Dr dr Sumarno DMM SpMK(K) said that this achievement brings a great impact for the institution progress.
Meanwhile at the opening, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr dr Karyono Mintaroem SpPA said that the number of scientific publications and higher citations is one of the criteria of the international accreditation agency. He hopes that this achievement can motivate other PMIB’s students to be able to make international published journals.
Here’s the title of their researches. (1) “Metabolite Extracts of Streptomyces Hygroscopicus. Hygroscopicus Inhibit the Growth of Plasmodium Berghei through Inhibition of Ubiquitin- Proteasome System” by Rivo Y.B.N which is published in Tropical Biomedicine Journal. (2) “Correlation Between Homocysteine, Folic Acid, B6, B12 and Osteoclast-Osteoblast Activities in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients” by Tita L.S; and (3) “Correlation of Oxidative Stress and Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor-kB Ligand (RANKL) with the Increase of Osteoclast Activity (CTX-1β Crosslaps) in Patient with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus” by Azaria A.A which is published in Clinical and Cellular Immunology Journal. (4) “Immunization with AGE-KLH Prevent Diabetic Complication in Mice” by Makhyan J.A. which is published in Indonesian Scholars Journal.
The instructor lecturers who are involved in these researches include Dr dr Loeki Enggar Fitri, Kes SpPark, Dr Dra Sri Winarsih Apt MSi, Prof Dr dr Kusworini Kes SpPK, Dr dr Sri Andarini Kes, Dr drg Nur Permatasari MS, Prof Dr dr Rasjad Indra MS and Prof dr Djoko Wahono S SpPD-KEMD.
